O2H TEA
Cederberg Sunrise (Lemongrass Grapefruit Rooibos)
Cederberg Sunrise is a caffeine-free rooibos blend — South African rooibos with grapefruit, lemongrass and apple. It is the one tea in our range you can drink at 10 pm without thinking about it.
Taste
Rooibos brings a smooth, nutty-honeyed base with none of the tannic grip of real tea. Grapefruit lifts it with a citrus tartness that stops short of sour, lemongrass adds a clean herbal edge, and apple fills in the sweetness. The colour brews to a deep sunset amber — hence the name.
What's inside
- Rooibos — from the Cederberg region of South Africa, the only place it grows.
- Grapefruit — from Thailand, for bright citrus tartness.
- Lemongrass — from Vietnam, for a clean herbal lift.
- Apple — for natural sweetness and body.
How to brew
Use one teaspoon (about 2–3 g) per cup. Rooibos is forgiving — pour freshly boiled water (100°C) and steep for 5 minutes, or longer if you like it stronger. Unlike real tea, it will not turn bitter with a long steep. Also very good iced.
When to drink it
Any time — including late. An easy evening cup, a caffeine-free option at a dinner party, or something bright on a holiday morning.
Part of the O2H rooibos collection — blended for Australian palates and packed in Melbourne in biodegradable packaging. Read more in our caffeine-free tea guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is rooibos caffeine-free?
Yes — completely. Rooibos is not made from the tea plant (Camellia sinensis) at all, so it contains zero caffeine. That makes Cederberg Sunrise safe to drink in the evening.
Can rooibos be over-brewed?
No. Unlike black or green tea, rooibos has very low tannins, so it will not turn bitter if you leave it steeping. Five minutes is a good starting point; longer just makes it stronger.
Does it need milk or sugar?
Not at all — the apple and grapefruit already bring sweetness. Some people add a little milk to rooibos for a creamier cup, but this blend is designed to be drunk on its own, hot or iced.
