O2H Breakfast is our take on a morning black tea — Guizhou black tea scented with osmanthus flowers. Where an English breakfast tea is built to take milk, this one is built to smell like apricots.

Taste

The Guizhou black tea base is smooth and lightly malty, with less of the brisk edge you get from a Ceylon or Assam. Osmanthus sits over the top with its distinctive sweet apricot-and-honey perfume — the flower is famous in China for exactly this. It is a softer, more aromatic breakfast cup, and it does not need milk to be drinkable.

What's inside

  • Black tea — from Guizhou, a high-altitude province producing smooth, gently sweet black teas.
  • Osmanthus flowers — for a natural apricot-honey aroma.

How to brew

Use one teaspoon (about 2–3 g) per cup. Pour freshly boiled water (95–100°C) and steep 3–4 minutes. Drink it black to get the osmanthus aroma properly, or add a splash of milk if you want a fuller breakfast cup. Re-steep once.

When to drink it

Mornings, first thing. Also a good mid-morning desk tea, or something reviving after a workout.

Frequently asked questions

What does osmanthus taste like?
Sweet apricot and honey, with a soft floral perfume. It is one of the most distinctive scenting flowers in Chinese tea, and it gives this black tea its aroma without adding any sweetness of its own.

How much caffeine is in O2H Breakfast?
Black tea typically carries about 50–70 mg of caffeine per cup — roughly two-thirds of a coffee. That makes it a morning or early-afternoon tea rather than an evening one.

Do I need to add milk?
No. It was blended to be drunk black, which is when the osmanthus aroma comes through most clearly. It takes a splash of milk fine if you prefer a fuller breakfast cup.
