O2H TEA
Tangerine Serenade (4 Flavour Concertos)
Tangerine Serenade is a tasting set of Xiao Qing Gan — whole Xinhui green tangerines hollowed out and filled with tea, then dried together. It is the easiest way to try all four of our tangerine teas before committing to a full tin.
What's in the box
Two of each of our four tangerine-infused teas — eight fruits in total:
- Pu-erh Delight — ripe Yunnan pu-erh; deep, earthy, smooth. The traditional pairing.
- Black Tea Enchantment — black tea; malty and full, the boldest of the four.
- White Serenity — white tea; the lightest and lowest in caffeine.
- Oolong Essence — oolong; floral and rounded, sitting between the black and the white.
What Xiao Qing Gan actually is
Xiao Qing Gan (小青柑) is a Cantonese tradition: a small green tangerine is hollowed out, packed with tea, and dried so the citrus oils in the peel slowly work into the leaf. You brew the whole thing — peel and tea together. The peel is chenpi, and Xinhui is the region regarded as the benchmark for it.
How to brew
Use one whole tangerine per pot. Pour freshly boiled water (100°C), give it a 10-second rinse and discard, then steep 20–30 seconds for the first cup, adding 5–10 seconds each round. One fruit is good for 7–10 steeps. When the tea inside is spent, keep steeping the peel on its own for a warm, low-caffeine citrus cup.
Who it suits
Anyone curious about Xiao Qing Gan but unsure which base tea they'd like, or as a gift with genuine novelty — most people in Australia have never seen tea brewed inside a whole tangerine.

At O2H Tea, we take pride in crafting exceptional teas like our Tangerine tea. During the aging process, you may notice a delicate 'hoarfrost' on the surface, also known as 'orange citrus oil.' This natural phenomenon is a result of the citrus oil precipitating after a sun-dried or low-temperature baking process. Rest assured, it's not mildew and poses no harm to your health. In fact, it's a testament to the quality and authenticity of our tea, enhancing its flavor and character.
