O2H TEA
熱帶の漣 (Pineapple Sencha)
熱帶の漣 (Tropical Ripple) is a pineapple sencha — Japanese sencha green tea with matcha powder and candied pineapple. Grassy, sweet and vivid green in the cup.
Taste
Japanese sencha brings a fresh, grassy, faintly marine character that Chinese greens do not have, and the matcha powder deepens the colour and adds a creamy, savoury weight. Candied pineapple sits over the top — tropical and sweet, but it reads as fruit rather than lolly. Bright, full and unmistakably green.
What's inside
- Sencha green tea — from Japan, steamed rather than pan-fired, which is what gives it the grassy, vivid character.
- Matcha powder — for depth of colour and a creamy body.
- Candied pineapple pieces — for tropical sweetness.
How to brew
Use one teaspoon (about 2–3 g) per cup. Sencha is temperature-sensitive: pour water at 70–80°C and steep just 60–90 seconds. Boiling water will make it bitter and dull the colour. Superb iced — brew double-strength and pour over ice.
When to drink it
Daytime. A good desk tea, an iced summer drink, or something bright after training.

Frequently asked questions
How much caffeine is in a pineapple sencha?
Green tea typically carries about 25–45 mg of caffeine per cup, and the matcha powder pushes this blend toward the upper end of that range — matcha is the whole leaf, so it brings more caffeine than steeped leaf alone.
What is the difference between sencha and Chinese green tea?
Sencha is steamed, which preserves a fresh, grassy, almost marine character and a vivid green colour. Most Chinese greens are pan-fired, giving a nuttier, mellower cup. Sencha is also more sensitive to hot water.
Why is my sencha bitter?
Water that is too hot, or steeped too long. Sencha wants 70–80°C and 60–90 seconds — no more. If you brew it like black tea, it will turn bitter and lose the green colour.
