Gardenia Moonlight is a rare gardenia green tea — soft, floral, and quietly luxurious. We blend premium green tea leaves with the delicate fragrance of *Gardenia jasminoides* flowers, creating a cup that's naturally sweet, lightly creamy, and unlike anything you'll find at a mass-market tea brand.

Gardenia tea sits apart from the more common jasmine green tea. Where jasmine is bright and assertive, gardenia is rounded and calm — a slower kind of floral. It's the tea you reach for when you want the day to slow down with you.

Flavour: Soft white flowers, natural sweetness, gentle green tea finish
Aroma: Creamy gardenia blossom, clean and light
Caffeine: Low–medium (green tea base)

In traditional Chinese medicine, gardenia (Zhi Zi) is associated with calming, cooling, and antioxidant properties. As a tea, it brings that history into something you can actually brew and drink.

Available in loose leaf and tea bags. Shipped Australia-wide.

How to brew: 75–80°C water, 2–3 minutes. Re-steep 2–3 times — the second infusion often reveals the deepest floral character.

Part of the O2H TEA H Collection — award-winning Eastern teas, designed for modern life.

How to brew

Use one teaspoon (about 2–3 g) per cup. Green tea is temperature-sensitive: pour water at 75–80°C — not boiling — and steep 90 seconds to 2 minutes. Boiling water is what makes green tea bitter and flattens the gardenia aroma. Good for a second, softer steep.

When to drink it

A calm-hours tea. Good at your desk, in the late afternoon, or in the evening if caffeine doesn't trouble you — its moderate level suits most people before about 6 pm.

Frequently asked questions

How is gardenia tea different from jasmine tea?
Both are green teas scented with real flowers, but the character differs. Jasmine is bright and assertive; gardenia is rounder, creamier and calmer — a slower kind of floral.

How much caffeine is in Gardenia Moonlight?
Green tea typically carries about 25–45 mg of caffeine per cup, so roughly a third to half of a coffee. The gardenia flowers add none.

Why does my green tea taste bitter?
Water that is too hot, or steeped too long. Gardenia Moonlight wants 75–80°C for 90 seconds to 2 minutes. If you pour straight from a boiling kettle, let it stand 2–3 minutes first.
